Newsletter of the WU Executive Academy – Vienna University of Economics and Business
NEWSLETTER OCTOBER  2017

Dear readers!

"We need to shape the digital transformation!" - "Disruptive is our motto now!" - "Our company should become more agile!" These are the phrases which often get thrown around in boardrooms and on international discussion panels, without much forethought. Some of the executives simply prefer to play the game of “bullshit bingo.” The winner is the one who says "agility," "disruption" or "new work" the most.

In a guest commentary recently published in the Austrian newspaper "Der Standard," Helga Pattart-Drexler, Head of Executive Education, explains why it’s better to concentrate on what really matters instead and to ask the right questions.

The impact of entrepreneurship on a country’s prosperity, innovation and growth have moved up a few ranks on political and media agendas. Yet with increasing attention, however, several misunderstandings have also become apparent in the minds of many people. Prof. Nikolaus Franke, Academic Director of the Professional MBA Entrepreneurship & Innovation, explores the 10 most widespread myths about entrepreneurship. Get ready to read why they are all wrong.
